If pushing yourself as hard as possible for 20 minutes is your thing and you have access to a powermeter then give it a go. Follow the warm up article below for a zone 3 workout and record your results. Repeat the test every 6 weeks or when you want to know the success of a particular phase of training

For the record I ran the test myself last week 275 watts which is OK and now I'll ride out at 60% of 275 (160watts) for those who have been following this blog I had been working around 140 watts so it's time to push on a little.
